NDA Preparation
Sainik School Chittorgarh, with its main aim of preparing cadets for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and grooming them to become exemplary officers in the Indian Armed Forces, has made significant progress in the academic year 2023-24. This report provides an overview of the activities and achievements of the school in pursuit of its objectives.
NDA Examination:
On 3rd September 2023, a total of 47 cadets from Sainik School Chittorgarh appeared for the UPSC (NDA) examination. Out of these, 16 cadets successfully cleared the examination, showcasing their dedication and hard work. The school takes immense pride in their achievement.
Preparation Activities:
To ensure the best possible preparation for the NDA examination, Sainik School Chittorgarh organized various practices and initiatives. The school faculties conducted extra classes in the evening, focusing on key subjects and providing guidance to the cadets. The library played a crucial role in providing current affairs related study materials to enhance the cadets' knowledge.
Mock Tests and Interactions:
Every Sunday, the school conducted mock tests to simulate the NDA examination environment and help the cadets assess their progress. Additionally, the cadets had the opportunity to interact with numerous officers and remarkable alumni of the school, who served as a source of motivation and inspiration.
SSB Preparation:
After clearing the NDA examination, the cadets have commenced their preparation for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. The Principal and Vice Principal are personally conducted classes and provided guidance to the cadets. The library facilitating regular practice of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) and loud newspaper reading sessions, are being conducted by English Department to improve the cadets' communication skills.
SSB Expert Guidance:
Sainik School Chittorgarh is fortunate to have two distinguished ex-chittorians, Commodore Yashwant Kumawat (Ex IO, President Naval Service Selection Board, Bhopal) and Col Pramod Badsara (Ex GTO), who had taken charge of the SSB classes. Their expertise and experience has significantly contributed to the cadets' preparation. Multiple sessions of group discussions, lecturette, and specific classes are being conducted by the Principal to enhance the cadets' skills.
The Vice Principal is actively engaged in the preparation process by providing regular practice on Word Association Test (WAT), Picture Perception and Description Test (PPDT), and Situation Reaction Test (SRT) from the library resources.
